Laminate flooring is a picture of a floor imposed on wood composite.  It is installed via a floating floor method.  Underlayment is used to soften the sound of the floor or echo when walking on the floor.  Make no mistake a floating laminate floor must be leveled with floor prep in order for it to meet industry standards.

Luxury Vinyl Plank

A luxury vinyl plank is a great option for families and pets.  It is the most forgiving and durable of all options.  It is often a vinyl that looks like wood or tile and often has a cork backing to prevent moisture and sound issues.
